Women: Waxing facial hair?

Please, don't quote from research or articles; I want to hear from your personal experience:

Does waxing facial hair (or any hair) really make the hair grow out coarser and darker? My mom says yes, and that the more often you wax, the more often you'll *need* to wax. My hair stylist says no, and the more often you wax, the *less* often you'll need to wax.

I limit my waxing to about once a month. I probably need to wax more often than that, but will it be worse for me if I wax, say, every two weeks? I don't want to end up having to wax twice a week. Thanks.Women: Waxing facial hair?
Mom: 0 Hairstylist: 1 lol. waxing does NOT make hair grow back thicker, darker, coarser, etc. Total myth. And your hairstylist is right, each time you wax it rips the hair out of the follicle and sometimes the area where the root of the hair grows is destroyed and hair won't grow there anymore. So more often than not, the more you wax, eventually (like years-eventually) the less often you will need to. Every two weeks is fine. You won't need to wax twice a week, hair doesn't grow that fast (and waxing doesn't make hair grow faster).Women: Waxing facial hair?
i have also heard if you wax you hair grows more often, and thicker.but i think it all depends on your body; i think everyone is different.
It doesn't really make it worse or better. I have to wax my upper lip about every 3 weeks. It just grows back on me like normal.
The more you wax the less it grows in. The hair may appear to be darker and coarser because it's a new growth and that means you getting close to the bulb. When you get the bulb then the hair folical dies and doesn't grow back! Yeah!

But if you screw up your eyebrow like I did- then you wish they would grow back thicker and coarser! LOL

I use to wax ever two weeks and now I am down to once a month and once every couple months on my eyebrows.
Waxing doesnt make your hair grow back thicker or darker, in fact its the opposite. It will grow the same as it was before you ever started waxing. it will be light and thin. Shaving is probably what your mum is thinking about. But im not sure if you need to go more often, since waxing pulls all the hair out, even the root. And so you probably wouldnt have to do it that often :)
