When making homemade facial wax what do u use to pull the hair out with?

according to some beautisians and stuff i have read when u do at home for better results its gud to use an old jeans cloth...n its rough n will come out better.. it seems...When making homemade facial wax what do u use to pull the hair out with?

soft cotton cloth, old hanky preferably.
